House Democrats believing they have a “smoking gun” to begin an impeachment inquiry against President Trump, based on nothing more than innuendo, allegations and secondhand knowledge by someone claiming to be a whistleblower.
The person who presumably overheard a conversation between President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in July turns out to be a nameless leaker lurking somewhere within the bowels of the deep-state.
This appears to have now turned into another witch hunt reminiscent of the “Great Russian Collusion Hoax” that ended in a disappointing fizzle for delusional Democrats — who became so enraged after the special counsel exonerated the President, that they even forced a disoriented and out of touch Robert Mueller to testify before congress.
This only demonstrated to the American people that Mueller was nothing more than a prop. His testimony highlighting the fact those Clinton attorneys were actually in charge of the probe.
This latest effort has all the similarities of a breathless media once again engaged in hyperbole, using the same verbiage, that the public has become all too familiar with.
What is known thus far is that moderate Democrats who were content sitting on the impeachment fence have now thrown their support as of late Monday evening with their radical counterparts, almost assuring that if this so-called “smoking-gun” turns out to be a misfire; all those house seats won by Democrats within Republican districts, are more then likely lost.
Democrats are placing all their hopes on a Washington Post and Wall Street Journal report that President Trump personally ordered acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney to freeze nearly $400M in military aid to Ukraine just days before he pressed the new Ukrainian president to investigate Joe Biden and his son Hunter.
It’s perhaps noteworthy to point out that President Volodymyr Zelensky before becoming President like President Trump has no experience as a politician, let alone as President within such a hostile region of the world along with a country mired in corruption.
Moreover, before becoming the 6th President of Ukraine since May of 2019 (that’s not a typo), Zelensky was an actor, screenwriter, comedian, and director, with his own company in which he produced films, cartoons, and TV comedy shows.
Therefore based on those facts, if true the President froze $400M in military aid, it would in all probability be the prudent thing to do considering the country has a long sordid history of corruption and instability.
However, that hasn’t stopped disgruntled Democrats regardless of the fact they haven’t seen an actual transcript of the phone conversation between the two leaders, that so far no one that was “ACTUALLY LISTENING IN ON THE CALLS” has come forward to corroborate exactly what was discussed.
Speaking to Fox News, a House Democratic leadership aide confirmed that the Democratic caucus will meet Tuesday afternoon to discuss the Ukraine matter and how to proceed.
In remarks to reporters at the United Nations on Monday, President Trump denied linking the aid money to Ukraine’s investigative actions. “No, I didn’t — I didn’t do it,” Trump said. He also called the Bidens’ actions in Ukraine a “disgrace,” and added: “It’s very important to talk about corruption. … Why would you give money to a country that you think is corrupt?”
Indeed, that’s a valid point.
Nevertheless, Democrats are about to walk the tightrope of impeachment without a safety-net, risking exposing their frontrunner candidate Joe Biden and his son to much-needed scrutiny.
