A pack of vicious Rottweilers has attacked a European man, and has eaten off his face! And to make matters worse, they were his own dogs!
The five Rottweilers ate their owner’s face after he was knocked off his ladder by strong winds during powerful Storm Ciara, last week.
Emergency services were confronted with the five vicious dogs when they arrived at the scene in Normandy, France but were unable to save the man. A police source told local media the victim’s wife called firefighters at 8.45pm but they couldn’t approach the victim due to the presence of the five “very menacing” Rottweilers.
The same police spokesperson also stated the dogs had “inflicted injuries on their master’s face.” The man’s name has not been made public.
These injuries are said to have occurred a few seconds after he had fallen. The incident took place sometime on Sunday, February 9, as storm Ciara battered the country. A specialist police unit trained to deal with canines was called out but they also failed to control the Rottweilers. As a result, an order was given for three of the dogs – the most aggressive – to be shot so the owner could be rescued.
The other two other dogs were reportedly taken inside the house by the victim’s wife, who has also not been identified.
Unfortunately, despite the killing of the most aggressive dogs, rescuers could not get to the victim in time. Known only to be 69 years old, he later died at the hospital. The wife was also transported to the hospital in “a state of shock” according to a neighbor quoted in the local media but is otherwise unharmed.
An autopsy is planned on the man to determine the exact cause of death.
